 Speech delay or alalia means when a toddler hasn’t met typical speech milestones at the     typical age .Being a little late with communication doesn't necessarily means there is a serious issue,  there are number of tools and methods used to identify your doctor or speech language pathologist your children have  a speech issue or not. Here are some things to watch for. Call your doctor if your child:

                    

  •       By12months  :has trouble imitating sounds
  •       By 2years : not talking or use at least 25 word 
  •       By 3years Doesn't  use unique two word phrases   
  •       Difficulty following directions
  •       Difficulty putting words together in a sentence
